"Japan is in my heart" -Miya Ando
With her ancestors holding titles in Japan as legendary sword makers, Element Eden Advocate Miya Ando has grown around the art of steel works. Having one foot rooted firmly in Japanese culture and the other growing in a Western frame of mind from her upbringing in Santa Cruz California, her works stem a beautiful juxtaposition of the two worlds.
Miya's heart has been strong with the Japanese people during this time of rebuilding, and she only continues to focus her artistic work in charitable donation to help Japan through this time.
Above is one of her most recent works "Hamon Drawing [meditation 1]", with proceeds to go to Direct Relief International.
