TRANSFORMATIONS: Miya Ando for Bang & Olufsen
Advocate Miya Ando collabs with Bang & Olufsen to create "BeoLab 12 Transformations." She creates her art for Bang & Olufsen by mixing her own colors and hand dies each layer, with water in between the layers, on-to aluminum. "The effect is very soft and ethereal," says Ando. The aluminum is created into speakers with the stunning yet peaceful touch of color, each custom and uniquley created. She has created 20 limited edition pieces.
Ando explains how nature has inspired her through her work with Bang & Olufsen:
“Nature is a great source of inspiration to me. I’m intrigued with nature’s gradations of colors and how this interplays with the reflection of light. When the industrial aluminum blends with delicate colours it changes the perception of the metal. I’m fascinated by how something industrial can transform into something natural and evoke the feeling of a cloud or water, and this reminds me that all things are interconnected." We love your appreciation of nature Miya!
